Pronunciation: al-LAH, with a full, heavy "L" sound.
Common spellings: in Arabic the name is written ا ل ل ه with a small dagger alif above the last lam (اللّٰه). In everyday Urdu it is written اللہ. Both are the same name.
What does Allah mean?
"Allah" is simply the Arabic word for God, the One and only Creator. It is the word Muslims use for God in every language, and Arabic-speaking Christians and Jews also use the same word for God in Arabic. In Islam, Allah is the One God who created everything, who has no partner, and whom Muslims worship alone.
