The right neon sign size depends on the wall and on how many words you want. This guide shows how to choose a size in feet, what the options are in our Custom Neon Builder, and an easy way to check it on your wall before you order.

Sizes you can order

In the Custom Neon Builder you choose the width: 1, 1.5, 2, 3, 4 or 5 feet. The height follows your text and is rounded up to the next half foot, so the builder labels each option plainly, for example 3 × 1.5 ft. You see the price of every size at once, so you can compare before you decide.

How to choose the right size

1. Measure the space. Width of the wall area, or the width of the sofa, bed or table below the sign.
2. Aim for about half to two thirds of that width. Smaller looks lost, larger crowds the wall.
3. Tape it out. Cut masking tape to the width and height (for example 3 × 1.5 ft) and stick it on the wall for a day.
4. Think about the words. Long text on a small size gets thin and hard to read, so for longer text go one size up or use two lines.

Which size for which room?

• Desk, shelf or gaming setup – 1 to 2 ft wide. See gaming neon signs.
• Bedroom above the bed – 2 to 3 ft wide. See room decor neon.
• Living room feature wall, wedding backdrop – 3 to 5 ft wide. See wedding neon signs.
• Cafe, salon or shop – 3 ft and up, so it reads from the street. See business signage.

Size and price

A wider sign has a bigger board and needs more neon tube, so it costs more. Prices start from Rs 1,699 and the builder prices each size from the number of letters and the width.
